Description
The Draeger Carina ventilator is a compact device for safe and effective respiratory support for patients with various lung diseases. Provides controlled ventilation and high precision control of respiratory parameters such as frequency, inspiratory and expiratory rate, amplitude and FiO2.
The Draeger Carina has an intuitive and simple interface and a wide range of settings that allow you to customize the device to meet any patient’s needs. Thanks to its compact design and light weight, the device is portable and can be used in both stationary and mobile medical facilities.
Draeger Carina is designed for adults and children with a body weight of 5 kg or more.
There are three main ventilation modes in the Draeger Carina:
- Controlled mode: controlled ventilation with preset ventilation parameters.
- Assisted mode: ventilation with minimal support to promote independent breathing.
- Synchronized mode: ventilation that synchronizes with the patient’s breathing.
The Draeger Carina ventilator can be used for invasive and non-invasive ventilation, depending on the patient’s needs.
Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is usually used for patients with mild forms of illness, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, or asthma, when the patient can breathe on their own but needs additional support. For NIV, the Draeger Carina can be used with a mask or nose plug.
Invasive ventilation is used for patients with severe forms of lung disease, such as arterial distress syndrome, chest injuries, or complications after surgery. For invasive ventilation, the Draeger Carina can be connected to a tracheostomy tube or a tube inserted through the mouth or nose.
